Monday, December 26th, 2011Even though I am usually not comfortable wearing any kinds of jewelry or accessories, one evening I decided to visit a store that sells Citizen watches. I don’t really know what made me want to step inside the store. It could be because I was contemplating a change in career and was feeling adventurous.
When I entered the store, I noticed that there were new Citizen watches for sale. Some were discounted as much as 30%. Since it was a one-day sale, I took is as a sign that I should buy a Citizen watch as a symbol of change in my life. I browsed the range and was attracted to a diving watch. I scuba dive regularly so it would certainly come in handy. It looked sturdy enough for use during sports, yet professional enough to wear to work. The price of the watch wasn’t cheap, but I liked it so much that I didn’t hesitate to whip out my credit card to buy it.
When I got home, my Mom was upset that I bought an expensive watch since she knows I don’t normally wear one. I told my Mom that I had a change of heart and insisted that I would wear it everyday. It’s been a year since I bought it and I have kept my word. I have also changed careers. Every time I look at my watch, I am reminded not to fear change.
