Next week, I’m flying out to San Diego to visit my best friend from college. We live on opposite coasts and with our busy schedules, it is difficult to make time to see each other. We try to set aside at least one week a year where we get together and spend time reminiscing about our crazy college days. Last year, she flew out to see me in Philadelphia and this year, it’s my turn to make the trip to California. I have no problem flying out to see her though, especially in the winter months when it’s freezing cold on the East Coast! I can’t wait to take her out for our traditional “catch up” meal, where we sit in a restaurant for hours eating good food, drinking strong drinks, and talking all night long. We both love Mexican food and since I’m not totally familiar with the area, I did my research on the best mexican food san diego has to offer. After hearing that I might be able to turn my old mobiles into some cash, I jumped at the opportunity to get home and find all of my old ones. I’ve kind of been stockpiling them for a while now, in hopes of perhaps finding a way to fix them, because I never really like to throw anything out if I know that it could possibly have a use in the future. But now that I know I can get at least a small kick back from these devices, I’m more intrigued about finding them. I think that they’re in a box someplace in my house, but I really couldn’t for the life of me tell you where that box is. It’s going to take some searching. But now that I’m more educated on the idea of mobile phone recycling, I’m very much in a good place about it all.

I Came to Australia on a 457 Visa
January 26th, 2012I moved to Australia just over a year ago. I had been offered a job here. Australia was not a place I really planned on moving to but the right job came up. I cam here on a 457 visa. This is a four year temporary visa.
The 457 visa is not the best visa to have. It is linked to employment with a specific sponsor. So if, for any reason, you lose your job you must then leave Australia within 28 days. Well this is the theory but in actual fact this can often be prolonged. I believe you only have to leave the country within 28 days of receiving official notification from the immigration service. So, taking in to account the slowness of government, it may take several months for them to send this letter. Even if you get the letter you can still contact them to explain your circumstances and ask for an extension
